    Keeping up with Qatar

    Shashank Srivastava, Acting CEO of the QFC Authority, tells BME what makes a successful financial centre: ”Gone are the days where the long-established traditional financial centres like the City of London, Wall Street and Tokyo dominated the markets.   • The Qatar Financial Markets Authority (QFMA) has signed an agreement with the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment 'CISI' and the Qatar Finance & Business Academy (QFBA) for the preparation of training and a continuous professional development programme.
  • For the first time, two Qatari banking professionals have been given the opportunity to participate in a 6-month internship programme in Jersey - the world's leading off-shore financial centre. Starting this week, interns on the programme will be given a range of work-shadowing opportunities in the Jersey financial services industry.
